Background: Born and bred in South Australia, Gayle moved to Griffith in the early 1970’s. She had worked in a clerical role for over 20 years before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which proved too debilitating for her to continue work. But this did not stop Gayle from getting out and doing for her community. Gayle volunteers for the Griffith Suicide Prevention and Support Group Inc. and her local church. She also keeps very busy at 2MIA FM as a presenter, presenting her program five days per week. Gayle has two daughters and one grandchild.
Music Interests: Gayle first followed The Beatles, Neil Diamond and the group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. There was music about the house growing up, as Gayle’s father was a keen Accordion player, performing his talents with the instrument at concerts. Gayle also played piano in her younger years, performing in concerts herself. These days, she enjoys music from the 50’s to the 80’s. “My favourite music makes me feel happy and brings back memories. It makes me very happy that I can share these favourites with my audience, in their homes and businesses, and the atmosphere at 2MIA FM is great.”
Programs: Gayle presents the Weekday Music Mix, Monday to Friday between 1pm and 4pm.
